Spirit Speak Tarot

The Tower: Break free

The other morning, for my daily draw, I pulled the Tower from the Tarot of the Crone deck. I was really moved by the imagery and energy this card held, it was different than what I’m used to looking at in other decks. It wasn’t the typical Tower that many of us recognize, you know, the building being struck by lightning and people falling out from the windows as depicted in most RWS decks and clones.

In Tarot of the Crone, we see a striking obsidian face being cracked open like pottery, exposing bright yellow light. It’s electrifying in all the right ways and gives off that sense of high energy release like throwing fine china at a brick wall. You’re being broke open and released out of this outer shell.

The color yellow in this deck represents:
“The life force as exploration. Creativity. Inspiration. Enlightenment”

This Tower urges us to break out of a hollow, empty cast that we have created over time. A veil that hides our true self, the one we think others will not like or appreciate. Perhaps this is a mask we choose to wear? I instantly thought of my cardigan, it’s something I wear quite often to “hide” my body. I’m a thick chick and I personally love the curves of my body, but no thanks to society standards I feel that I need to hide it daily. It’s ridiculous, I know. My cardigan is my security blanket. While it’s comforting, it restricts me and feeds the daily need to cover up. The Tower urges me to take off this shield, unapologetically!

Usually, for me, the Tower in most RWS decks or clones indicates a sudden upheaval. This is either caused by yourself or an outside force that is completely out of your control, I always look to see where the fire or lightning is coming from. Is it an outside force that’s out of our control or is it coming from within, perhaps something we caused?

How does this card compare and contrast to the standard imagery of the Tower? I think indie decks best show fresh perspectives best, so I pulled out five decks to compare this card to, moving from left to right.

1 Collective Tarot

Renamed as “Disaster”, this deck takes the Tower to the next level by showing us ways that the high voltage energy can take effect. The card reminds me of a comic book page, showing the action in each scene, giving us a clear indication of who may be at fault here.

2 Spirit Speak Tarot

Gone in seconds, just like that. A clap of the hands and everything you once had is now on the floor, broke in pieces. This card teaches us a lesson of “impermanence” very well I think! Everything you own may be no longer at some point… the car you drive may one day break down, the mug you love and use each morning may shatter, or the book you return to daily may soon fall apart.

3 Neon Moon

All communication is down, it’s time to go back to the basics. Perhaps we tried to advance too fast, it’s a big sign that we need to start over and pace ourselves this time. Remember, we didn’t go from corded phones to touch screens over night, it was a slow evolution.

4 Daniloff Tarot

This deck really sticks to the RWS tradition but still in its own style, I really love that about the Daniloff Tarot. The fire is coming from within the Tower and a hand pointing from the clouds seems to be saying “you did it, not me”. The person falling has lost its grip of power or possibly abused their power and is now being sent back to the bottom.

5 Sickly Tarot

Another very RWS depiction, but this time the Tower shows no lightning or fire, it’s all wiggly and wobbly. Instantly, I was reminded about not having a strong foundation and things not being stable. Maybe you cut some corners in order to get something done quickly and it backfired. Let it fall so you can rebuild it back up!

Full Moon in Sagittarius

Zodiac 10.png

Happy Full Moon in Sagittarius! First off, I'm launching a Patreon page on June 1st! This is one reason I've been pretty quiet here on the blog, I've been pretty busy working on exclusive content for my future patrons! You can read more about this adventure on my news board so I don't make this post longer than I intended, I could ramble on all day, trust me!

With that mentioned, I wanted to share a sample of what will be accessible to my patrons that pledge at my $10 on my Patreon page! For this tier, it will unlock access to my New + Full Moon "Elemental Tarotscope" readings each month. These mini tarotscopes contain a single card reading for each sign based on their corresponding element, along with a little snippet about the moon we are currently in at that time. Whether you relate best to your Sun, Moon, or Rising sign is up to (or all three), I hope you enjoy this reading and find it helpful!

DECKS: Moon Oracle + Spirit Speak

DECKS: Moon Oracle + Spirit Speak

The Full Moon in Sagittarius is all about shedding light on what needs to be seen to offer some much needed relief. It's no fun carrying around extra baggage so take this time to do some unpacking to make your days a little bit more manageable and lighter, this makes room for more adventure! Take this time to rediscover why you are doing what you do, and really get back to the roots that started it all.

Watch your step, you don't want to make any wrong moves! You may have been misguided so do some double checking and be sure before you proceed further.

Taurus - Virgo - Capricorn

Nothing like seeing an Ace show up on the Full Moon, right?! This offers a chance for some fresh, raw clarity. The Ace of Swords is all about seeing through the clouds and getting more inspired by what's filling your mind with excitement, rather than clogging it up. If situations were a bit hazy before, they may be a little or lot more clear now so use this fresh energy and make it work for you with new ideas and perspectives! Get those gears moving! The Ace's like to fizzle out if not used, just like a seed that hasn't been getting watered. You need to nurture this Ace and really get it off the ground and working for you. This is the perfect time to pull out your journal and start writing! Jot down every idea and thought, even if it's just words and doodles. Something may come from all of this and really spark your imagination! This is how some of my best work is created.

Gemini - Libra - Aquarius

With this moon comes the realization that it's time to move on and let things go. If there has been something nagging at you and holding you back, here's your sign! The 6 of Swords is a card of mental exhaustion and asks you to really think about why you are still trying so hard to make it work and why you are still doing he same shit day in and day out. If it didn't work the first time, or the second, third, or fourth... why on earth do you think it will be any different this time around? Take this as a reminder that not everything is meant to be and sometimes as hard as you try, it's just not worth your time or energy spent. It's like doing the same thing over and over again, but expecting a new result. You need to make the changes if you want to see something change. Just think of what you can do when you break free of this cycle!

Aries - Leo - Sagittarius

Keep going... you are so close, but do take some breaks if you need to. Don't be so hard on yourself, some things are just tough. Perhaps you're limited in resources and are doing the best that you can with what you have, it may not be ideal but it will get the job done - even it takes a little longer and more effort. The 9 of Wands is tough work! It's letting you know that the work you are doing is not over but it is so rewarding if you follow through. I always suggests asking for help if you need it when this card presents itself. You need to do the work yourself but a little help a long the way won't hurt, just make sure that you are doing most of it and not getting off easy by sitting on the sidelines watching others do it for you... that won't reward to anything in the long run, you would only be cheating yourself.

Cancer - Scorpio - Pisces

One of my favorite cards in the deck is the 8 of Coins. It asks us to stay focused on what we are creating and doing in our lives, attention to detail matters. This is actual, hands on work! With this moon, take a moment to check in with yourself to see if you are creating what you truly envisioned when you started it. Are you slipping up here and there? Could you bring in more focus to get back on track? Sometimes when we are so stuck in routine with what we are doing, so busy to get it finished, we start to make a few mistakes or get sloppy. It happens to the best of us! If you spot this, stop! Take a deep breath, step away for a little bit, go grab some coffee, or even ask for some fresh eyes to look over what you have been doing to see if they notice anything you may have overlooked. If you find things that need fixing then fix them, don't try to make any quick repairs or gloss over them, people will notice!

Any plans for this Moon? I'd love to hear, leave a comment!

Weekly Reading: Feb 26 - Mar 4

Happy Monday - a fresh new week has begun! Every Monday I'll be sharing a reading for the week ahead to see what energy is at play and how we can work with it, along with some extra added guidance. I hope you enjoy these weekly readings as much as I do! I'm slowly making a new home on this blog and I have to say, I'm excited for this change! This week I'm pulling a cards from the Spirit Speak Tarot and Visions Crystal Oracle - I'll be reviewing the Visions Crystal Oracle deck soon, along with several other decks!

Deck: Mystic Mondays

The energy this week is coming from the 8 of Wands, some much needed movement if you have been waiting for the wind to pick up! The 8 of Wands is all about direct action and getting your feet off the ground - go, go, go! Now, this isn't a gentle blow of the wind I'm talking about, this is a full force blast of creativity pushing us in the direction we need to be moving in.

This shift is headed into a clear focus as we move towards Judgement, a card that always tells me to wake the f#%k up and open your eyes! I love how the 8 of Wands boat is moving directly towards a new calling to join others with their hands up, waiting to be chosen. Tag, you're it! It's time for you to breath new life into your lungs and see what you are truly capable of. Listen to what you are yearning for and begin to take the steps you need in order to get where you need to go - then go full force! Always state your intentions loud and clear - announcing them to the world is optional, but it's great for accountability!

Extra Guidance

I pulled a card from the Visions Crystal Oracle for some extra added guidance this week. Tiger's Eye is a stone that asks you to seek towards more clarity in any movement you decide to go in (great for our cards this week). It also urges you to seek out to others if you are feeling quite anxious and vulnerable, you don't have to be alone in this. If taking a new leap is making you nervous, it's perfectly normal. There's a quote I love that reminds me of just this: "a goal should scare you a little and excite you a lot". This rings so true! While it can be hard to open up to others when you're in this state, it's a good idea to do so. Connecting with others will only help us move through these emotions easier knowing someone else can relate to what you are going through and give you some much needed advice.

"Tigers Eye increases emotional stability, confidence and will power to get a clearer perspective on things..." - Jessika Fancy (guidebook)

Remember, you are not alone!
